It makes perfect sense for everyone with a tiny drop of technical understanding.
The whole point with wireless is invalid if you care about speed.
For starters; Ethernet is 100Mbit realistically. Your Linksys is 54Mbit theoretically.
54Mbit equals 6.75Mb. Now you can atleast cut one third of that to get a realistic speed, which means that you can get 4.5Mb stable.
There isn't more to it, so a.) get a 10 ft. cable and be happy with the speed, or b.) stick to the wireless and be happy with no cables.
