People Are Allready Cheating Halo2
« on: December 16, 2004, 08:52:00 AM »

Ok so I'm in a room and i witness some kid jumping like 50 feet in the air . We were playing nuetral bomb and he would grab it and just go to our base and stand there our team must have unloaded like 10 clips of SMG's into him before he died  . He was not the host and he got kicked , but this makes me wonder how many people are using cheats on Kai . Every time i get iced by the assault rifle in two bursts I wonder to myself is their a headshot cheat . All of you probally remember what hacks did to counterstrike

(Getting shot through walls , always getting headshots) I hope this doesn't happen to the game I love so much . And to all you hack users out there .

Well bursts not shots and technically if you hit someone in the head with two bursts they will die . That is why i am starting to suspect head shot cheat . cause that is hard to prove .

dfunked,

do you ban by ip address or by user name???  I would think a ip ban would be best..

I agree cheating ruins the challenge of a game and if i was to cheat  i would take no glory in winning. It always is nice to be able to gloat about having the most kills.

If yo uare cheating then bragging has no advantage cuz it means nothing.  The only people that use cheats are the people that have no real talent at gaming.

Hence, play ghost recon 2 !!!  much more technically challenging.  Go ahead  I chalenge you to beat the dam on hard with teamates!  even normal can take many tries. I have met many people that cannot beat the dam on normal!

Its common knowledge that the trainer works online. Lame as it is, just boot the noob and carry on with life. If its in a room you joined, beat them anyway.

Hacks? The correct term is trainer.

It is possible for Xbmc to detect that xbes are on the hdd so, yes. But do we want Xbmc to check that files you have on the hdd? Sounds like some good old communism to me, so no.

It is not the apps job to check this, nor will it be. Weither or not some have a trainer on the hdd is fully up to themselves and not any others business.

It is the job of mods and admins. If you see some cheating in a game you take a screenshot, or get an admin or a mod to join in.

Dude if media center could find and kill all trainers good . That would be badass , you should never cheat in any gamez anyway . But I will say that the reporting cheaters feature works great , it would be nice if they could intergrate that into media center .  But if your on a decent server it really doesn't matter cause anyone with a t1 or t3 doesn't want cocksuckers that are cheating eating up all their bandwidth . Also on a side note I was using live today and I had no idea that all live is , is tunneling software too . Whenever we joined large rooms it was laggy as hell . I at least assumed that MS had spent some of the money they get from live on central servers , but that is bill for you ( he didn't get rich by giving shit away ) So now even more props to Kai you guys have built something better than live and has a better selection of good players .

Edit. Encouraging violence isn't welcome.

well.. I don't knwo about the guy that was 200feet int eh air.. but taht sword thing you can do without cheats.. there is a glitch that some players use to mess around ... totally in the game no trainers.  But I agree Cheating in games is retarded.  If yout not good at a game practice. if you still suck then accept it.. maybe you aren't good at the game.  I've accepted it.. I'm not good at Halo2.. I'm the worst player on my tema.. but I'm also the leader(I have great recruiters) But plain and simple... Cheaters will RUNE XLink if they keep at it and try to spread this crap.. I with you guys could mkae it so taht the dash HAS to be XBMC or somethign so they can't load the trainers with halo2...  Whatever..  Just report them if they are really cheating and they will get banned.  If I ever see a player cheting I probabyl wouldn't report them unless it was in a match.  but tahts just me.

I noticed an obvious cheat the other night.
There was a guy in an arena that he was hosting that was only 1/4 of the size of everyone else. It was quite hillarious to watch this tiny little fella running around carrying weapons that looked huge on him. His small stature made him very hard to kill and he was obviously running some other enhancments aswell. But yes I do agree that running trainers or cheats does make the Xlink kai experience a little misserable for us unenhanced players.

I hope we don't have to resort to random drug tests and urine samples. lol laugh.gif

How do I report cheaters?  I played in about 8 halo 2 arena's last night and left all of them due to F'n cheaters!!  finally I found an arena with no cheaters and the game was awesome!
If you have Debug bios and can take ingame screenshots of gameplay that's the best proof ever. Then e-mail the complain along with the image to Taz or dfunked.

If you can't take ingame screenshots contact a mod or admin asap so he can join the game. You can contact with mods and admins over msn or irc (#XLink) for live chat.

a lot of it is also lag sadly... you could THINK youre firing at them taking down their shield when actually they are out of your firing range and are firing at you already... My ping is usually crap so I have experienced this quick death syndrome more than most people.  if youre the HOST however, and this happens, then start to worry.
