Xbc Vs Kai
« on: December 05, 2004, 06:28:00 PM »

aite people i tried the new xlink kai through media center and it was some fun, but it always seemed to be laggie, i mean i was jumpin like 20 halo feet every 30 seconds. then i tried the new NEXbc alpha, which i thought i could use purely from my box, but it turns out you still need the computadora. anyhoo, nexbc is almost never laggie for me and runs way smoother.

are there some crazie settings that i need to tweak for xlink kai (i followed the tut on how to set it up...).  untill then i am perfectly happy getting off my ass and setting up nexbc from my computer so i can play HALO 2 nice n smoooooth.

Yeah here's some advice for you:

Don't join people's games who think they're on T1 connections but in reality are on 256/256. Some people just don't understand there's only so many people they can host. I guarantee that if you find the same players and jumped between XBC and Kai you would find Kai would perform better - I'm not lying, just ask the people who came from XBC..

yeah I agree with dfunked. There are about 50-100 rooms for Halo 2 and you cannot tell me all of them are laggy. Problem is people need to know their host limit in each game they host. Me for example, I have a 512 upload and I can host 8 on Halo 2, but 12 on GR-2 or Rs3:BA. Depends on the game, but you should change rooms until you find the right host for you. Then ask them to close the game so it doesn't lag the game out when others try and join.

ya this is a stupid post , i play on kai everyday with no lag at all .. i play a multitude of games (halo2, gr2, crimson skies, RB63:BA, PGR2, Links, MTX mototrax..etc) and never have problems with lag .. try shutting off your torrents and cleaning your computer of spyware .. lag doesn't have a whole lot to do with the app itself , it more depends on your connection and who you are connected too ..

go ahead call my post stupid. but for me it makes perfect sense, i am glad that kai works great for others, i just prefer the XBC deal (and always have over kai). for me, its easier to get up and click on my computer rather than start my box, boot xbmc, then reset and play my halo 2 back-up.   i just didnt really like it much.

the bottom line is that right now, for me NexBCALPHA is workin great, like butter. and unless it craps out or kai comes out with some more crazy new shit, im gonna stick with it.  im not an XBC baby either, just a fan of functionality.

there,

you dont have to respond to my stupid thread anymo!

neXBC copied the idea to have servers being all together from Kai, Kai's interface is better, and not only that you will be feeling dumb when GeoLink kicks off probably before the new years or after new years.  And if you have looked at Kai in the last couple months kai's average users have increased from about 200 to 800 averaging a day and 1000 on a good day meaning more users to play with and eventually crumbling XBC in the amount of average players.  The reason why people still prefer XBC is that the xbc users come onto kai and join the public arenas and discover lag like you yourself, Jimbo619, but for you to compare that program to Xlink is horrible, neXBC only has 2-3 hosts in the Lan setting of it where everything is public how do you know if its going to be better than Kai in the long run plus the Kai community is more together and interactive with each other the creators of the program stay active with the community and they continue to make us happy and they don't update half as much as XBC does it's horrible how XBC has to update. XBC charges you money for their service of using XBC Pro with like 2 features that you can't use in the regular and the features that are blocked are the most useful. Xlink does not, but they do accept donations. But, what you prefer is what you prefer and I would prefer Xlink over Xbc anyday. XBC is full of nothing but noobs and trainer whores and xbc does nothing to combat cheating. The things that I could say about Kai being better than XBC could go on and on about packet compression etc. whatever.  I just know that Kai is a better program than XBC and Kai has only been around for about a year now I think and XBC has been around for like 2-3 years and still does nothing new besides this gay neXBC that rips off Kai give me a break.

you don't need xbmc to use Kai, you can get up and click on your computer with Kai...but for those with xbmc they now have the option to use it through there, thats a plus for Kai

learn to use a program before passing judgement on it.

Kai is way better then xbc, the only thing i don't like about kai is that you cant even make a few mistaken posts without a rude Aussie banning you.

Racism is not "rude", it's offensive and not allowed at Kai.

And the rude Aussie is me

Hey, Xlink is 1000 times better, Even if you over look everything Kai has to offer, and just look at the programs, Kai looks like a big titti blonde with a nice ass next to your ugly one arm little sister who can't read good. And that just the UI, lets not talk about all the other stuff that makes kai incredible! I used to use xbconnect in is younger years, only b/c there was only 15-30 players on kai, back in the halo uno days.  But now the only competition Xlink has is LIVe and you really cant beat  MS, with all the employees they have.
