it'll make a difference if the cable goes 300 miles. otherwise, no.

try hosting a game, your lag is probably the other persons connection and/or system link games have a different netcode than multiplayer games, so lag can happen when ur trickin the xbox into thinkin it's playing a system link game as opposed to a multiplayer game.  this probably isn't as much of a factor in halo 2 because it's new and all, but it was for later versions.

Speed of light? This isn't fibre.

Maverick0984: It's not 300 miles for cat5 cables it's 100 meters. For every 100 meter you'll need a repeater.

I've been playing Halo 2 on Xlink and XBC and although some games seem to be lag free, more ofthen than not I'm getting bad lag.
The cable length im using is 25m, im not so sure this would make a difference, but I have a 256kb upload and 1mb d/l. Why am I getting this lag?

Thanks

In the Kai Config. Tool choose the NIC that the XBox is connected to instead of 'Autodetect and Lock'.
