Request: Tutorial On Wrt54g And Kai
« on: November 10, 2004, 03:35:00 PM »

smile.gif The final product will be in the form of firmware that you will just flash your router with - obviously this needs to be done carefully and only given once we are confident it does what it should.

As is the case with everything though, whatever you do is your responsibility. That said, we're obviously not here to fry your router smile.gif

There'll be more updates in the next few weeks about it. Stay put and we'll deliver wink.gif

Cheers.

Hi,

We haven't released anything as of yet, but we've got it working on internal builds smile.gif The final product will be in the form of firmware that you will just flash your router with - obviously this needs to be done carefully and only given once we are confident it does what it should.

beerchug.gif   you da man!!!!  this is all good news.. So would this mean that you need a second Xbox to run the Kai server,  or can it be done with one Xbox and the flashed router?  Either way i'm in.. I admit that it works beautifully from the PC,  but I have second box that I've been using to host, but i'd gladly get another!!! biggrin.gif  Anyways, just shooting the breeze.. will wait patiently for more news.

First of all, why would you pay for the firmware when you can get wifibox for free?  Second of all, its your choice.  Run whichever choice you want.  Its free for crying out loud.  You want to run it without flashing it with the new bios?  Then do it.  everything you need is sitting there for you.  Not easy is it?  Now explain that to the 100's of people who arent going to understand how to do it.  So now what is the easiest way to get it to the masses?  Yeah, its a full bios.

BTW...GG on the bios guys!

I also use Sveasoft firmware.  Am I to understand that you are going to release the source needed to compile kaid for WRT54g routers so I can use it with sveasoft firmware?  I hope so, because I really like that firmware, and would rather not have to change to openWRT to use the KAI program on my router rather than my Desktop.

As I said guys, *NOBODY* has this besides us as we keep on making sure everything is correct - nobody wants a broken router do they?

Keep an eye on our own forums, there's more stuff about it there..

laugh.gif

BTW, what are all those other firmware flashes that were mentioned above?
Would it have any use for a noob like myself.  smile.gif

I just got my router from CompUSA ($59.99 after rebates; offer good until tomorrow, November 13) so if you haven't already gone out and purchased one, that might be a place to look.

Cheers!
