Your poll question is goofy and you do not need to have your XBOX next to your PC to use Xlink.  Do some research and you will see, there are dashboard interfaces for Kai in Ava and Xbmc.  You do not even need an Xbox based interface.  You just need to log on from your PC, navigate to where you want to play, then go play.  Easy.

I too use KAI and have my PC in another room than the xbox. I was using XBMC as my  interface but it is still a pain when trying to communicate with someone that is only using text chat in KAI.  I have to get up run across the house, type a message, run back to the console. It's a pain.  I for one would like to see the following like I posted in another link.  A front end, that can connect to the PC in engine only mode, that is either html or java based and that could be run on a Pocket PC or a Java enabled phone. I've got a Pocket PC with Wifi and a Nokia 3650 BlueTooth enabled cell. I'd love to be able to use either one of them as my gateway to the KAI engine running on my PC.  I've tried both already using a VNC client to connect to my PC but the lag in the VNC refresh rates makes it a pian.

dude you suck at asking questions.  It should read "Is you Xbox right next to your pc?".  My computer and pc are one.  My xbox is a completly different device.  And no my xbox is not right next to my pc and that is what I would have answerd but you didn't have that as the question.

why doesn't someone create a tunneling program where everyone connects to each other according to the game as if they were all on the same network.  it would be the best program written ever,  here in the dorms, you can just plug in your xbox to the wall and anyone else on campus can pick up your box and play system link, is it possible to make a program that you boot, then boot the game from hdd and you are connected to a "network" of people playing that game?  if there was a tunneler that you could run without a pc it would be frigging amazing, i've been wanting to spring this idea for a while, but havn't been drunk enough not to worry about sounding stupid cuz i'm sure it's impossible or already exists until i am now.  if it does exist, please copy and paste :   "you dumbass haven't you ever heard of __(insert_program_here)___"     thank you.

That's actually not a stupid question.  We've recently completed development of a Unix (*nix) based Kai that apparently does run on an Xbox within a Linux port.  The foundation has been laid, now on to figure out how to BIOS embed the app or something...

It doesn't seem all that far off now.

Stop by www.teamxlink.co.uk for full details and keep up on our official forums there as well.

Not that I'm having any problems with Kai now, but that would be awesome!
