You don't need to remote desktop.

On the desktop PC, install Kai, run the configuration utility, and select the 'Separated Use (Engine PC)' profile.

Install Kai on the laptop. Select 'Separated Use (UI PC)' on the laptop. Run Kai on the desktop. Run Kai on the laptop.

Voila!

thanks, that's good to know--oh yeah I will use that for now on, but I was able to remote connect with no lag problems at all.
