Halo isn't compatible NTSC / PAL. It's documented many times. Read the pinned thread on supported games. That's most likely your issue...

You forward ports on your router to the PC's IP so you're OK.

From the site, that hasn't been updated in a while. There's version 3.1 WinPCap as the beta now. All a matter of trial and error.

UPnP is only required if you wish to make use of the "Automatically Forward Ports for Me" button, and your router is UPnP compliant. Not really necessary...

Thanks for the info.

Cool software!  I had some good gaming last night on halo.

It's probably a good idea to mention this on the online help pages....there were a few mentioning this last night... and people I was talking to didn't know.

QUOTE (ZeBadger @ Mar 4 2004, 03:43 AM)
I've been playing Halo with a mate okay, but other people in our room don't talk or join the game... I'm guessing that they're unable to connect to my xboxlink or the games I start.

I cannot see some Halo games that people create.

I've added the 2 udp ports 34518 - 34519 to my Netgear Router/firewall to push them through to my PC (192.168.0.2).  Does it need to point to my XBOX (192.168.0.7)?

Is there a version incompatibility issue?  Or PAL/NTSC compatibility?

I saw something on the Online Help page about UPnP.  Why would I need to enable this?  It's been kinda working without it.  Should I enable it on my firewall and/or WinXP?

Just spotted this....

If you're having troubles viewing games being hosted on the XBox, you may have some luck installing the WinPCap 3.0.1 alpha libraries available at:

I'll update if it works....

....nope.

Currently there are 10 people (including myself) in a room that I'm in and I can only see 3 remote xboxes.  Any ideas?

I never worry too much about there not being as many "players" as "xboxes" or vice versa, because many times people get busy w/ other things, or just forget they're connected, or just log in w/o an active xbox link, or whatever.  Also, I have never had any problem hosting or joining a NTSC/PAL game, so I don't think that's it.  I would think if you can see even (1) game that's created, you will see all of them, as you are definately connected and are recieving info from that room.  Also, I never see much chat in these rooms.  I wouldn't worry too much about it!

Ask anybody else, and they'll confirm this with you. Halo DOES have region compatibility issues.

I also have the D-Link DI-624 and I have forwarded to ports (I think), but I still cannot connect at all.  I have tried running hardwired and everything.  The guide for D-Link routers on the XLink webiste is for older routers.  Can someone who has it working outline the steps to do it for this router pls.  Also, I have alternately tried connecting XBox hardwired and with Linksys Wet-11.  I think both of those are ok and it is the router giving me the problem.  Pls hlp I want to play online real bad.  Thanks
