I Do Not Know How To Play In Halo

Make sure halo is at the screen where it says it is searching for games on the network.  Then put xlink into a game, so that you see people with the little msn messenger like icon, their name and their ping beside them.  Make sure that under local x-boxes you see one listed there.  It should just be a bunch of letters and numbers (the mac address of your xbox).  Also make sure that on the config menu "squash room when game starts" is NOT checked, and that if you have a router or firewall you have set it up properly (instructions from x-link site).

I've had that happen alot because people didn't setup their games right, hadn't started the server yet, or were already in a game and didn't let you join once it was started. so try some more games and see if any of them work.

I give up. That official website says enter the ports shown above (!) THERE IS NOTHING, NO PICTURES, NO PORTS NUMBER! No simple tutorials.

I'm disappointed, this is the first xbox app I can't get to work but it is one that I wanted really bad... Any other app can do the same thing?

the best way to get a game going is go to rooms mode.

Join a room that has is being hosted (for halo make sure it is the same region. eg Pal halo and ntsc halo cant connect to each other)

Ask if a game is being hosted and put your game to system link.

Some games dont alow you to join mid-game so if a game is in progress. (halo dont)

If you have problems joining a game in someone elses room, create your own and create your game on the XBox.

Halo is not the best game to play online (for matchmaking) due to.

* You can only connect to players with a simaler version
* Once a game is in progress new players cannot join
* To have more than 4 players you need more that 2 players on one of the xboxes
* No in-game voice support
* Has a large bandwith requirement so most games suffer with lag

However if you persist and get a game running halo can be a lot of fun to play online.
