Just wanted to let you know that there is a new arena within the Community [ArxTech] under clans.  This is the dedicated server arena.  You can host games in here until a dedicated host arena is set up.  Everyone is welcome there.  On the other hand, if you want to take part in private games (ie the game coming up against XR8D), you need to sign up to gain access to that arena.  Goto xl.arxtech.net for more info.

QUOTE (Froggie @ Jan 29 2004, 03:12 PM)
Me and a friend are trying to setup a permanent R6 dedicated server on a 8/1Mbit ADSL connection. At this moment we want to know about bandwidth usage so we can finetune some things. Also another thing to test is the CPU load on our 'Xlink server'.
So we invite you all to play some R6 so we can monitor some things.

The server's nick is 'TRUE-is|Dedicated'. Please post a comment about lag etc. if you have spend some time playing on our server.

Thnx in advance,

Froggie (Xtag: froggie) and Liquid (Xtag: liquidh2o)

hey froggie smile.gif ...

i saw your nick in xlink...
could you send me the result of the bandwith limitation ?? I have the same connection and would like to set up a server when i am at work and a sleep..

i don't play RS3 much... but would like others to be able to play when i am not at home..

with kind regards,
Marco

QUOTE (Liquid @ Feb 2 2004, 12:47 PM)
after some testing we found out that the duron cpu-power can support an eight player game, so we're now fetching ourself some more cpu power wink.gif and continue the construction of our deticated server.

We have an extra Kai Feature request though, it would be handy if Kai would remove idlers from the room after a while an removed the remote xbox list, so the rooms won't fill up with idle'rs etc...

We'll be back online 2nite smile.gif cya there Liquid

hmmmm i have a p4 2.0 ghz ... so i guess i can run more than 8 players...

i have set up a 10 player test at the moment...

i used xbc for this one cause i can ask people for feedback in the welcome message...

I like this - maybe we should make a sub arena of Rainbow Six 3 in Kai - specifially for dediacated hosts with good bandwidth? I could also give you right in that arena so you could control "message of the day" etc.

Let me know if you need anything

TD

Flat,

i would like to enable that.... i currently have a test server set up on xbc ... just because they support a welcome message... and i can ask people for feed back..

i will set up a dedicated RS server tonight when i finished playing topspin smile.gif ...

with kind regards.
