Same problem here, RP614V2, ports forwarded correctly but same error windows. In fact it runs randomly.

update your profile to input your actual ip address on the xboxlink.co.uk webpage, there seems to be some inconsistancy at the end there...

I have just put the IP address of my router into my profile in the box where it says 'Dyndns/no-ip/static ip address: (don't change this unless an op tells you to)' but am experiencing exactly the same problem. Is that what you meant?

i hope it was the wan ip...heh...

I have an RP614 on my home LAN but haven't used XLink.  Ironically, I just picked up a couple Xbox Live headsets so I can play Xbox with/against my brother, and I had intended on getting us both set up on XLink in the next two days.

Anyway, I'll try connecting tonight and see if I can make any headway.

i dont think it should be related to the router, this looked like an isp thing to me... hidden proxy...

I'd be surprised if it is the ISP since X-Link Messenger worked fine before I added the router.

Try set your PC as the DMZ and see if that lets you log-in.

Upgraded the firmware on the Router to 514RC1 to see if that would help. Have noticed that on reboot, I get this error message when I click on 'Attempt To Configure The Ports Automatically'
user posted image
Not sure if this is due to the firmware upgrade or because the UPnP is not yet initialised.

Also the new Router firmware provides an option additional to 'port forwarding' called 'Port Triggering' although there is no accompanying documentation to explain what this is for. Does anyone know if this could be of help?

Really appreciate the help on this one folks. Am trying my best to solve it but although I am a programmer by trade, do not know that much about networks, beyond the basics.

Please excuse my ignorance. What is DMZ? Checked www.acronymfinder.com but it provided little help (unless you take its suggestion of Demilitarized Zone!)

hehe, yeah that's what DMZ is DeMilitarized Zone. I have no idea why they call it that for network terminology.

Basically means putting one PC outside the "DMZ", where all ports are accessible from the Internet (something you don't want to do for very long)...

There should be an option somewhere on the router for this...

FYI, I just forwarded that 2-port range that's required by Xlink.  I already had UPnP enabled, so I didn't make any other changes.  I do not have DMZ enabled for any of the PCs on my network.
