Hi,
I'm having the same problem.  Installed and tried it, reinstalled it again (used the latest RC2) and tried it. Same thing.  And I've restarted my computer too, checked my taskbar, my processes, can't find anything.  Hope someone can find a solution to this problem.

I'm afraid the only way i got rid of this was a fresh format and rebuild.

Drastic i admit, but it worked

This message will appear if the either of the ports 34518 or 34519 UDP are in use. The other way this message will appear is if XLink *is* actually open.

As WinPCap handles most of the work, it can be usually resolved with re-installations of a particular WinPCap version...

If you don't believe me, try running an XTest. As soon as you hit 'Go', try running XLink RC2. You should get the "Already open" message. For people who never get the already open message, try this out and see if it does what I said it would...

If WinPCap re-installs can't fix it, perhaps network driver upgrades / router firmware upgrades could do the trick.
