Did I Miss Something?

Did I miss a step or something, I followed the guide on the website and the guide in these forums and I still cant seem to connect to a game. I can get in a room on my PC and talk to the people in the room and such, and all the MAC addresses pop up, but when I goto the game on the xbox and goto system link it always says no games found (rainbow Six 3). Did I miss a step? I dowloaded the 2.24 and everything, I tried Bo-Xlink but that just crashes back to evox whenevr I try to launch a game. I turned off my firewall and stff but im still having problems.
