Has Anybody Had Any Success With Xbc-link ?

From what I recall when I expirimented a few weeks ago, it bails out when you load XBC-Link on the Xbox.  Everything is perfect up to that point (window is resized etc..).  I'm almost 100% positive this is where everyone else is crashing too.

I checked all of that and still no luck, my xbox hangs once I start the app on the xbox, my computer then gets the error.

1.) Make sure the xbox has a static IP..

You can't possibly mean that a static IP setting is actually required for this?  Perhaps you mean for us to confirm that the IP is not changing when XBC-Link is running?  Right now I am using DHCP but my router ALWAYS assigns the xbox the same IP address and subnet irregardless of which application is being used on the box (i.e. it tracks the MAC address - it's been functioning like this for 5+ months and never once altered).  It works fine for XLink, XBC, and any web/local network application I've ever used.  I can always assign a static IP but the effect should be exactly the same as my router assigning the exact same IP.

I think my post got misinterpreted both in tone and meaning.

Firstly, you guys provide a great service.  I and everyone else benefits at absolutely no cost from your work.  People who do nothing bitching and complaining to someone investing their own hard earned time without profit is a pet peave of mine so I want to make absolutely sure you don't take my post above the wrong way.  Plus, supporting someone else's tunneling tool is above and beyond anything I've ever heard of.  To be honest, I don't even use XBC, I'm just trying to help the problem get narrowed down and if you totally abandoned the thing for any reason I don't think anyone would blame you.  There was no attitude intended.

What I was conveying was genuine surprise at a static ip requirement since it shouldn't matter providing the xbox is not changing its IP address.  I don't think you meant to say that but considering I use DHCP assigned IPs, that would be an obvious factor if for some reason it actually was necessary (not a networking guru).  When I said 5+ months, I meant that the IP address provided by my router has been the same and that functionality on the network (XNS streaming, shoutcast, ftp, tunneling) and outside the network (internet, IMDB database, Linux updates) has been flawless and without problem.  I only recently experimented with XBC-Link after hooking up Bo-Xlink (my desktop is on a totally different floor from my Xbox so this sort of integration is the difference in playing online or not playing online).  I tried it about two weeks ago and got the error and then found other posters getting the error around the same time.

I hope that clarifies things on both grounds  beerchug.gif .
