QUOTE (l-dvS @ Dec 17 2003, 02:25 PM)
Im sure u ppl have heard of ClanBase, GameBase, ESL and other famous online gaming leagues. Im a webdesigner, and if i can find the right ppl, we can create an online gaming league for xboxconnect and xlink.

In the league people will play different games (Counter-Stike, Top-Spin, PGR2, HALO ....), with clans, or alone. There will be stats, on each player or clan, and there will be a ranking table for each game ladder, where people can advance or lose their rankings. In a way this will recreate XboX live...

I have seen little community sites, which host tourneys, bit its not big enough. Im trying to create something easy, where people/clans can challenge each other in the website, and play the game on the time appointed.

This will atract much more people, and will make the xbox online experience much more interesting.

Give me your feedback plz smile.gif

sure...maybe you can get together with Taz to create something...

Right now i dont do tourneys or ladders or whatever because i dont have the time for something drawn out.

personally though, I would dig it for xlink to have its own separate stuff for this, not shared with competing tunnels in any way.

dfunked mentioned a new site that xlink arranged to host this type of stuff, but i dont know how far that project has progressed. I will say tho, that if he doesnt reply, that its no disrespect, only that he is in australia, and his time zone is far different than ours (or mine at least, est).

Yea, but we need to change a lot of that stuff,  if we can all team up together, u (oggy), taz and dfunked (if hes interested), and make something much better.

Check out some of these sites:
www.clanbase.com
www.gamebase.com

Nice design, easy to use, and i like the "challenging" idea.

Hi there, nice to see you taking an interest in running a ladder/tourney site.

Although it would be a good idea to have a ladder that encompases all of the xbox tunneling software (XLink, XBC, Gamespy etc.) I dont think it would work out.

though there are clans out there that have members who prefer different tunneling apps, and www.xadictos.com runs ladders on Live, Xlink and XBC.

At the moment the average number of users on xlink at any one time is around the 250 - 350 mark, and growing, since i started using xlink which has been about 3.1/2 months it has almost tripled.

I think that XBC has more users but they tend to play a smaller varity of games, (I have never used XBC this is just the impresion I get)

If youve took a look at my website, you would have noticed that my ladders are hosted by casesladders.com. the main reasons to this is that I am not an expert in website design (this is the second website I have ever published) and its low maintinance so hopfuly gives more time for playing games.

Hello everyone,

OK.. heres where we're at with the sites.. Taz and his crew have made their ladders site - and xlink has offered a domain name (www.xlinked.com) and hosting space with MySQL support - im finishing that stuff up over the next day or so..

The deal here is, that Taz took the time to sort out his site - and we like that.. thats why we offered to host a site for him to do whatever he wants to do.. but, and im not being rude here (u should have seen xboxlink.co.uk before dfunked got his hands on it - it looked like shit - im no artist), but it could really do with a facelift smile.gif .. So far, dfunked has offered to lend a hand - along with some other ppl - but dfunked is pretty busy atm with a few things - including Kai - so, I think its good that u guys can team up and sort something out which is really sweet.. all the hosting and stuff will be provided by xlink..

We're talkin something with total integration here - access to the XTag database etc.. and i gotta say, thanks guys for the time you all spent so far on it - as soon i get this Kai stuff out the way, im gonna ruin you all on PGR2 ... wink.gif

Anyway - just popped in to thank u all for sortin this out - and its nice to see ppl work with each other - as opposed to bitching all the time - u dont find that in many places, and im glad that this place is one where u do...

Cheers

Well said TD  cool.gif

And you're all right of course, this could really kick-start an XBL-alike gaming experience.

One suggestion, make sure cheating bastard feedback is included for the hackable games  wink.gif
