The systems have to have very similar ping to work. If they don't, it won't work.

Yes, it probably is your firewall,

I had simaler problems with Zone Alarm (not the pro version)

I now use Norton Firewall with out a problem....

... the first few times you need to allow it access to ports.

How can it be a firewall issue when other games work fine?

My friend and I could not get Top Spin to work, but Crimson Skies worked just fine. And, both and I are not using firewalls, as we have routers.

If other games work for ppl, then its the ping limit in topspin.. if other games dont work too, they should look into the firewall issue..
