QUOTE (TheMuffinMan @ Oct 23 2003, 07:35 PM)
BoXlink can never fully suceed (sp?) because of the fact it has to be circulated via IRC, or some other p2p sending device, as to chat, last time I checked, the Xlink chat was based in IRC, though since I don't have the program anymore, haven't looked at it.

first of all, yes you suck at spelling.  it's succeed.  second of all, it's not distributed through p2p, idiot blink.gif. please don't talk against boxlink unless you know something about the homebrew scene... ie. learn about XBINS.

Also, if you decide to post in these forums again, please take the time and go over your fucking horrible grammar.  I really don't appreciate having to decipher a damn post.

(all of whom may just play HALO BG CTF) but that's beside the fact

first of all, the expression is BESIDES THE POINT.  second of all, that isn't besides the point.  the great thing about xlink is that people play games besides Halo.

I'll argue more later, when I'm done with all this damn work I have to do.

Hmm, actually you may have to be the one to double check, I know my modding abc's  (ie i have XBC Link AND BO Xlink, and i've tested around with both) I received XBC Link from flat235 directly actually.

Peer 2 Peer = Kazza type applications retard

Grammer?
no, it's just how one says something, ie i say besides the fact, you say besides the point , and usually when you say point, it's at a closing of a sentence, whereas mine continues, and my saying fact makes more sense.

ex. fetch yonder axe is = to get the axe over there

And you know I just noticed something, you never seemed to mention anything about what my post said, just flamed how I said it, could this be a way of saying that I was correct ? Sounds like it to me. Also I know how you can send stuff via IRC, I've been an IRC OP for multiple networks, xbins refers you to a FTP server when you type /msg xbins !list and sends you a pm saying log on to distribution.xbins.org port 21 blah blah blah, though you can also get it through Direct Connect on AIM, DCC sending, so on, and yes P2P.

and as for boXlink NOT succeeding, i personally think it will, more people need to use WGN mode,  and ACTUALLY set their status.

There's loads of help on our website and last time I checked, http://www.xbchelp.com/ is still under construction.

I can answer this one since I do all of the work that site ;].

The reason there was a "Under Contruction because we're constantly adding new content" text on the main page is the fact that new routers come out and the same reason your help section is also unfinished. Things cannot be completely finished overnight.

Spelling Nazis ROFLMAO when you don't have any substance in your argument it's always essiest to attack Grammer and Spelling

you are the nitpick:

QUOTE
Nitpick compensates for his general weakness as a Warrior by pouncing on errors, however irrelevant to the discussion, and using them to discredit the enemy. For example, if his opponent in a sports forum conflict casually mentioned the Cubs' 4-2 victory in the 1908 World Series, Nitpick would quickly counterattack with something like, "4-2 !? Any moron knows the Cubs won the Series 4-1! Someone so ignorant about baseball history can't possibly know anything about salary caps!" Even if the minor point is conceded Nitpick will return to it whenever pressed in the main arena of battle.

QUOTE (dfunked @ Oct 24 2003, 02:54 AM)

As for the flaming over user-interface, next time, why not post the correct pic?

user posted image is what you should be showing the people in here, rather than the screenshot that shows everything open.

One other thing. X-Link may like to have users, but we certainly don't want users coming from XBC who there to just cause trouble. XBC users aren't the only users in the world who want to play online games for free. We do have other places to recruit more users from, such as X-S, which has a MUCH larger and generally more intelligent userbase than XBA.

dfunked.

OK Dfunk let me see if I understand it right.  In order to join a game you only need to have the one window open?  That shows only people on how do I know who is playing what?  Do I just click on the name and then it is in the game?  or does it open a second window?  How can I tell who is playing what?  Seriosly.  I am curious.  Ate if it is jst one port up and down then its the same.

And I didn't come over here to cause troubel I have merely been asking questions as to what I understand them to be. What I like about one interface what is the benifit in the other software.

I may not understand tunneling or support moding boxes (mainley cause that leads to pirarcy which is not only ILLEGAL, but takes money out of the hard working pockets of the guys who design the games to the people who press teh CD's).  I do however understand Compters I have put together several.  And yes I do now know that you do not need a modded box to run xlink messenger.

I do appreciate your logical well thought out response thanks.

Or if you download xLink you can test what does what and how it all works,

Honestly, its so easy to use, i think the interface is great

heres a tip, btW :

USE WGN MODE !!!!
And Set your Status as you can see that bottom box in the image (im not doing anything) IE: i am hosting Tony Hawks4 etc etc, i personally think more people should do this.
