Dunno if this is possible or even if this is already possible, but would be nice if you could drop out of a game and go right back to boxlink screen, rather than rebooting to dash.

You can do this,

but it would mean that you replace your usual dasboard for bo-xlink.

so that everytime you boot up your xbox, it would load bo-xlink.

You could update your dash ini file so that bo-xlink is the first item on the menu.

This would be an excellent feature.

its just too bad becuase its controlled by the bios.

if there is a disc in the drive, resetting reloads the disc.

if you play of hd, resetting sends you back to dash.

I have said this before, only way around it is to have another key combo that loads another xbe file, thus a "in game loader", which would, of course, take you from what you are doing, to load another app up instead.

i would not recommend this. you would lose ftp ability in your dash, and the exit button wouldnt really help you much smile.gif

Application XLINK: Ability to use more normal ports, as I am unable to solve the port error.
I've tried EVERYTHING, and still can't use xlink, and lots of friends of mine, have the same problem.

k, use normal ports? like 21?  biggrin.gif  anyway, with kai, you wont have to forward your ports anymore, as you could tell with the news on the xlink homepage: www.xboxlink.co.uk.

well, just a reply to all the reboot to bo-xlink posts.

this might not be a perfect answer, but its the one i use.

X-Select 0.6

lets me pull the left-trigger and select bo-xlink from a "quick-menu" without having to load a dashboard..  Its very lightweight and supports multiple dashboards, quick-load apps, password protection etc.

"But Kai will use a totally new approach regarding interclient communication over UDP - and will negate router issues completely." I'm unsure how to interpret this sentence.. Are you guys still using UDP packets? If so.. that doesn't really negate router issues completely..

My router drops UDP packets sad.gif !

Well, I was fantasizing about booting to Bo-xlink from within a game(without rebooting the xbox).  That discussion led to koldfuzion's point, that X-select will allow you to boot an XBE without waiting for your dash to load.
This is good.  It will allow quicker transition from game to Bo-xlink.

By the way, if you're talking about Winows safe mode, then that's of no help at all. I checked task manager when this happened and can confirm it was the Xlink program slowing it up.

APPLICATION: XLink

SUGGESTION: i think u should make a server room/ special room to check stuff like stats. and other stuff  for the FACTION game something like a solo chat server or program.  could make it close till faction comes out but just have it there so it'll be set and ready to go.

APPLICATION:X-LINK

Suggestion:

Ping filter that allows a hoast to kick players automatically from there room if the player's ping is higher then what a hoast sets.

Somthan that would kick them if they spiked for more then 20 seconds or somthing so when your playing and some one enters the room, the game already in progress doesnt stall because of this persons high ping.

It would make it easier to weed out laggy players.

Koldfusion: You're right. It's not a perfect solution but it is a very good one. Thanks for the tip.
