I get the same problem.  Never used any of the Xlink/XBConnect before, so this is all new to me.  Ports are forwarded to the correct machine (24518-24519) to my computer.  Do I need to forawrd ports to my xbox? The IP the XBox gets is 192.168.1.253.  This shouldnt be problem tho.  How about we get some answers to these bug reports we are all posting? Not to be a dick, but the help on the XLink website, can you connect, yes, no, yada yada, really isnt enough to help people.  Thanks.

Works fine for me, however there is a bug when used with xecuter 2's in game reset function.  Once in a network game, when I use in game reset, then recconect to box-link, I can't launch any games anymore.  It acts as though it does not know the location of the default.xbe.

Me too. I got Win98 and WinXP. In Win98 no problem, but in WinXp I got the error mencioned. And a system tray icon appears. I have clicked on it, and choosen close, so XLink appears, but it doesnt work. Then, appear 2 files into the folder of XLink RC2: config.dat and games.dat. Games.dat is empty and now if I try to run Xlink again, the error message is "`Procedure PacketGetAdapterNames failed". I got a NIC, a USB emulation of a NIC and a firewire card.

  Just my 2 cents...

BTW, I'm running:  X2L (x2 4977), 80gb WD (games located on F:Games) and Windows XP Pro.

Keep up the good work on development, can't wait until I won't have to use to PC anymore to play online (w/o shelling more $$$ to M$)  beerchug.gif

RC1 works very well for me, i downloaded RC2 and it always says that ports 34518-34519 are blocked when they are 100% NOT blocked, like i said RC1 works fine but RC2 refuses to believe me that the ports are UNBLOCKED, anyone one else experiencing this??

QUOTE (Rob3121 @ Aug 30 2003, 07:27 PM)
When I load XLink on my computer (winXP) i get an error that says that the program is already open and i should check the system tray...  This is just after i rebooted my computer and there are no programs running expecially Xlink...

We are having the same problem with xlink & XP - have it tried on both our XP PCs.  I am 100% sure it is not really already running! I posted on this a few weeks ago & have still not seen any clues for a solution.

What type of router do you have?  Could other programs be conflicting with it - do you have XBC, Gamespy, AIM, Kaaza?

Does anyone else have it working with XP?

Now when I open XBConnect it gives me an error saying "Error initializing WinPCap".  Which was installed by XLink.  Anyway, still cannnot get XLink or previous XLink releases to load.  On the Release5B I get an error says PacketX.dll needs to be registered...

The problem of the winpcap is because the XBC uses other version of winpcap. I f you want to run again XBC, just reinstall it. It takes the good winpcap for it, and runs ok agian.

But nobody says how to solve the problem of "Already running"...

We still waiting...

Ok. Bug solved. It is solved in a thread, so I will not explain everything here. Just to say, reinstall XBC v3.0, it installs correct winpcap and XLink works fine
