XLink Bug Reports
« on: August 29, 2003, 04:20:00 PM »

Well, i dont know if i'm just retarted, but i put bo-Xlink on my xbox and i loaded it up and it just stays at the awaiting connection screen. Do you still need to do the port forwarding with bo-Xlink like you needed to do with x-link? (which i never got working because i couldn't figure it out with my router)

Yes, i've just been running it for a while and played a halo game but then suddenly I just got runtime error 5 and i pressed okay and it shutdown X-link. Now when i try to load it up again it gives me the you have to forward your port thing but they are forwarded. It'll probably work later or something....

*Edit*
Yeah, after reboot it worked fine. Hope you guys can work it out. It's only happened once though so nothing big

There seems to be something odd with the UPnP router stuff... it used to work for me for the test builds, but the public release won't work.... I end up having to forward the ports manually which isn't that bad, but it says that it failed to find any upnp devices... and I know that UPNP is installed....

I switch to wireless NIC to wired NIC hence why I need to change the port forwarding to the correct DHCP-leased IP.

I can't get Xlink RC2 to login at all. I keep getting the "port check failed" error.

I am using a Netgear DG814 Modem/Router, firmware version 4.8 (have also tried 4.7 firmware with no luck)

I have UPnP enabled on my router (and get the "your router doesn't support UPnP" error)
I have ports 34518 and 34519 forwarded in my router settings.

One of my friends is using the same router as I am with version 4.7 of the firmware and is having the same problems I am.

RC1 still works fine.

Cheers.

Found a little bug with the 'increase max. players' feature...

it will always say that the current room size is set to 2 players, regardless of whether it's 2, 5, 16, whatever... also, when you choose a max. amount of players, you can no longer select a value lower than that if you decide to go and click the button again... so the list can only get larger and larger but you can't reduce the size..if you set the game to 16 players, you can't do anything but keep it on 16 players ie. you can't take it back to 2 or 3 etc...

Also couple of times it's having trouble's with the user list.... i think you've said before it was something about a user's XTag TD?

Hmmm, well I just tested my theory one last time......and now it signs me in without logging into the X-Link web-site.  ::sigh:: figures.

I don't know what was going on earlier today I for  the life of me could not sign onto RC2, without doing the little trick I described above.

I know the X-Link guys said they were working on the server so maybe things are working correctly now.

Well F:\Games\Halo\default.xbe should not be any problems right.
Or F:\Games\MotoGP2\default.xbe either.

Both hangs during startup :-(

Both works well then I boot from evox.

I used to play RC1 without any problems.

After I upgraded I got this error everytime when starting xlink:"run-time error '10049' adress is not available from the local machine"

The solution was quite simple, the xbox had to be powered on before starting xlink.
This was not the case with RC1, thus the confusion.

Hope this helps anyone.
