« on: December 24, 2008, 06:03:00 AM »

hope trhis is the right section, if not mods please feel free to move.

i have been on xbox live for a year now connected through ethernet, yesturday i purchased a wireless network adapter.

i have installed the official network adapter to the 360 and set the connection up,however it will see the network but not connect to it, xbox indian staff told me was a router problem so i phoned the company to check all settings and all is fine with router.

the router is  belkin f5d7630-4a   running firmware  v.a.1.08.03uk

if anyone has any ideas why it will not connect to the network your help would be much apprechiated.

by the way im running the new crappy dashboard on the 360

thx dan

Hi,

You might have to go into your router's setups and set up an IP matching your Xbox360's information.  this would different than using automatic settings (DHCP) where the router talks to the 360 and configures the network connection.

I guess it goes without syaing that your wireless adapter can be seen by the 360 and you can see it in the Network section of the dashboard ?

Try power cycling everything after entering in the security information, sometimes routers can be stubborn with it.
