Cant Get On Xbl At School (pics Inside)

Hey guys need some help getting onto XBL at school. I ran ipconfig and have no idea where to find the DNS. I cannot connect via ICS because the wifi connection is too weak so the school provides ethernet ports for us to connect to the internet.

The mains problem: the settings are set to automatic config and when I run a test it says ip failed. If there is an easy way to fix this problem then I do not need the DNS.

Just need some help if you can please let me know asap.

Hey,

I reckon that the school's blocked the port.
I think you can connect via a http proxy, I'm not sure i've never needed too.

Do you have to log in at all? IE a captive portal or something?

if you focus on a window and hold ctrl when you do a screenshot it will only capture the selected window.

as for the xbl.. have you contacted those at whatever help desk you have available? surely when would be able to tell you if there are any ports blocked.

oh yeah, "ipconfig /all" will give you more info

I know at our college they have that type of stuff blocked.

There is no reason for you to tie up bandwidth so you can play XBL at school.

Depending on your school's equipment setup I doubt it would work well anyways...

Try changing your xbox's MAC address to the same one as your computers wink.gif

That's a trick we did at my college - gaming systems did not authenticate the same and were blocked (the school looked for anti-virus, etc with Cisco Clean Access) however once authenticated ANYTHING with the same mac address would be allowed through.
