You will not get banned from the softmod. If it won't let you use the downloader for some reason (doubt this will be the case), do this:

Pop in the game you used to install NDURE with and load the "linux" save. Select disable softmod. Download the maps when they come out. Then pop in the game again and load the load the "linux" save and just Enable it!
