My situation:
v1.4 box, Executer chip. Chip was off during the following problem and drive was LOCKED!

PROBLEM:
120gig banned hd that i tried to unban by following the multiple "UNBAN EEPROM flash tutorials" (i.e. unban via Confi Magic) from xbox-scene.com. It doesnt work.
What I used as an EEPROM was my stock xbox hardrive's EEPROM when i followed the Config Magic to unban my 120gig drive. It didnt work. Instead LIVE was shot up the "your system might be possible modified" message.

So...i put my stock hdd back and didnt get the "your system might be modified" message from LIVE, as I did from my 120gig. Instead, when i attempted to troubleshoot it Okay'd the "cable connection," "IP," and "DNS"....but it failed at signing to LIVE. It didnt say i was banned (keep in mind i have the stock hdd) it just gave me the standard trouble shooting message.

QUESTIONS:
So...i did the account recovery on my friend's un-moded box and i could sign on to live. Thus my LIVE account isnt banned...then what is banned? The 120gig drive? the stock drive? both? or the motherboard itself?

Was I supposed to put the EEPROM into the 120gig drive even before i attempted to sign onto LIVE? B/C the HDD upgrade tutorials dont mention FTP'n the EEPROM to the 120gig drive...they just stress LOCKING and dont mention EEPROM?!?

Is there a soultion inwhich i can use my orignial EEPROM from my stock hdd that signed onto live? or do i basicly need to find an EEPROM from an xbox that has never signed onto live?

Also, is it true that M$ can scan drives to look for drive sizes even if the mod chip is off?
