I Think I Am Banned
« on: July 24, 2006, 11:07:00 PM »

ok so to my understanding, I cant have a friend's account on my xbox ?? here is what happend, I've been online for like 2 years and never banned before. last saturday a friend of mine gave me his xbox live account that he never uses and told me I can use it. so I figure it would be nice to have to have a spare account too so I copied his account on my xbox and used it.

I am guessing this is what caused the ban ?? according to the marriage theory, he got online using his xbox eeprom and HD and now that it was on my xbox with a different hard drive they banned my xbox. can some of you pros around here confirm this ??

also, what are my opitions here ?? I had a friend's xbox banned once but I got it back online by replacing the eeprom and a new lockable hard drive.

now my questions is, CAN I use my current xbox live account if I get a new hard drive and a new eeprom ? or do I have to get a new account ?? I am getting this picture and another picture that says "hardware or software may have been modified"

Well this is a somewhat dumb question but is your xbox modified. If it is, was your friends GT flagged for possible cheating or other sorts of mischief that violates the TOS agreement. If you do not have a modified xbox, there is no way to ban you. marriage theory is a different basket than what you have. When you go through the troubleshooter and it gives you that screen, push Y and post the codes it gives you. It could be just a simple router mess up, when you post back we'll have a better idea of whats up.

its modified with live blocking bios and I've been playing since I bought the xbox(2.5 years now) and never been banned. and I didnt "accidently" went online with the chip on either. so only explanation is that is either my friends account was somehow banned or flagged for whatever reason(I dont know really) or I am banned because of of having 2 different accounts on same xbox(which I heard isnt a violation of xbox live rules)

I checked the codes and I have a 6 on the Ycode which means I am banned(unless anyone here tells me otherwise)
any ideas ??

also how do I check which version of ms dash I have ? I wanna see what I have cause I hear all this fuss about live 2.0

Yup you are definitley banned with that "6" as the first number of the second set in the "y" section.  Your HDD is greater than 10G isn't it?  If it is there ya go right there for I keep telling everyone that M$ WILL eventually catch you with that HDD. I don't believe in that, "You won't get scanned if you cause no problems, or trouble" theory.   Whether you get flagged or not everyone will be scanned no matter what. I have talked with some of the techs and the questions that I threw at them gave me the utmost insight of what was really going on.  Any type of mod will get you banned, even having a hacked bios loded into memory after the original has been loaded.  I have gotten banned before and I just simply flashed an eeprom and went stock with the same GT.

well you can have a 6 in the Y line but it matters where it is. Having multiple accounts is not a TOS violation. you can have up to 8 accounts.

And Pricemeista33 Ive been using a 160gb hdd for 2 years now, and I havent been banned. MS DOES NOT scan Hdd's unless you are flagged. The tech support doesnt know shit about what Ms does for bans, all they know is to tell you to powercycle, your shit. Also if your everyone will get scanned is true then million of modders have slipped through the cracks since its been 2 years or "random" scanning. If you go on live with your original bios loaded with no modded content then you have nothing to fear. If you cheat and cause trouble your get marked and scanned. And obviously loading hacked bios and going onto live will ban you. Like I said. Trying to cheat on live will get you banned (cheating being trying to load modded bios after you have already booted to the original bios) If you keep your shit straight you won't get banned.
