Getting On Live With A Chipped Xbox Does This Work?

you can use the larger hdd, you would only need to use the stock hdd if you had a flagged gamertag. But since you say yours is clear than you are good to go with the larger hdd. And it sounds like you have it all figured out. Best of luck.

I have proven that YOU CANNOT GO ON LIVE WITH AN OVER 10G HDD.  You will get banned for M$ is scanning for larger HDDs.  I have worked through trial and error to see if in fact that they were doing this and, yeeeees they are retrieving information about your HDD.  You don't even have to have a MOD in place, just the HDD and there ya go.  Everyone using larger HDDs will be banned over time indeed.  It's only a matter of time but this is true.  Remember that there are millions of people that have to be scanned so you're only waaay in the back of the line!

I really believe that M$ keeps a databse of all the stock drives that they recieve from Western Digital and Seagate.  So they will know if the drive was manufactured in an Xbox or not.  You must have at least a stock drive that came with and Xbox or get banned down the road.  Now it's not certain that there's a database that keeps track of HDD to Xbox console.  That would really hurt in the long run.
