Wireless Adapter Setup

You just need the LIVE! addition to your Dashboard.

Do the following:

SETTINGS -> NETWORK SETTINGS -> ADVANCED -> WIRELESS -> SETTINGS -> NETWORK NAME

It will do the stupid Live! loding circle thing, which is so ghey, and then come to a screen that says 'SELECT NETWORK', and which time... select your network.

It will do the stupid circle thing, again, and then it should go to the Wireless Status page, at which you should be go to go. IPB Image

Did you check the PATCH5 cable? It might be broken.

Yip - I'm 200% sure of the cable. Took it from a working machine. Also tried a crossover cable as well. still no luck.

OK, then. Check the port where you plug the RJ-45 plug into, and see if it's damaged.

Check if any of the connectors are like sticking up, or touching another.

I fixed the problem.  biggrin.gif
You wont believe it but it was a power supply problem. I'm not quite sure what led me to it but the power supply was giving out 5.6V.

I got another power supply. This ones gives out 6.2V and the xbox adapter works perfectly now. Updated the firmware and all working 100%

Thanks for the help.

Still having problems sad.gif If I setup the xbox adapter and my wireless access point to have no security everything works fine - but this is a little too insecure for liking.  when I ebable WEP (either 64 bit or 128 bit) the xbox adapter refuses to see my access point.

On the xbox i've selected infrastructure, the host name is the same as my ssid, and selected 64bit wep with the same security key as on my WAP. still no luck. what am I doing wrong?

I've got a surecom 9410sx. both wap and xbox adapter are on the latest firmware.

Ok - scratch the previous reply. I went back to basics. (After a strong cup of coffee)

Reset both WAP and xbox adapters and resetup IPs and keys. Now working with WEP!!! smile.gif
