Has Anyone Tried To Emulate Xbox Live?
« on: June 23, 2006, 10:00:00 PM »

Is there any groups out there that have tried to emulate the xbox live service? I know about the system link games that can be played on xbconnect and gamespy but a xbox live emu would be cool. I know it has been done with many MMORPG games, can the xbox live be modified to connect to a private server?

If there are any groups that are working on something like this please leave me a link in this thread.

i doubt it, theres no way to change where Live looks for its servers, so youd have to spoof it through local DNS

plus theres an extensive "handshake" process that i dont think anyone has been able to match

i believe Live packets are also encrypted, so this would have to be cracked as well

I'd really just like a setup where you can choose game types like team slayer; instead of choosing players and someone choosing the game type.
That's the best part of live.

sorta like halo 2??? and yes i agree thats the best way to do it, i hate having one person control whether or not u get to play the game type u want
