Cant Connect

Ever since i installed UnleashX onto my xbox i have not been able to connect to xbox live,my friends can still connect(they are using EvoX though).They told me to turn on my PPPoE settings,then restart the xbox with the game inside and it should connect.This does not work,I need to find a way to connect before my Xbox Live trial period expires,so i dont get charged the money for an account i cant use.Can anyopne help?
