using your original gamertag and a large HD you will get banned again

you can use a 200gb HD with a new gamertag

or

use an unbanned stock HD with your old gamertag

I'm kind of in the same pickle as johnmcg. You can see here: http://www.teamxodus...ewtopic&t=14247
Are you saying then that once an account has been banned for "Hardware Modification" it is then flagged in XBL's system and we can not use a large drive again even with a newly flashed eeprom and new large drive?

If that's the case, wouldn't that imply that XBL can know when you have a large drive on any system regardless if it is a virgin to the XBL system? Becuase I thought that was the whoule point of flashing the eeprom with the info from a virgin XBox system, to make XBL think that the hardware is "new".

yes, XBL can tell if you have a large or stock HD regardless, but that check takes extra time and effort, so they only check the HD of "known offenders" so to speak (flagged gamertags) for other members they just check th emarriage
