perhaps your hard drive is not locked therefore not enabling you to boot up the MS dashboard with your mod turned off.

do you have a softmod? if so you must uninstall it to make a Live account

yeah. you can do that, but to get the account on your xbox HD (so you don tneed th emem card) i think youll have to uninstall the softmod (and then reinstall after you copy the account)
