"xbox Can't Recognize Disc" Message When Launching Xbl,

IF you've got another DVD drive laying around, slap it in there and see if you get the same message with the new drive connected (Thompson drives kind of suck). If that doesn't do it, maybe reformat the C partition and then reinstall your MSFT Dashboard. Just a couple suggestions that you could try. I can't say if this will work or not, it's just something you can try that might work. Good Luck.
