First of all, I searched before posting this, found lots of topics, but half of them say one thing and half of them say completely different things. Sorry for posting this, but I just want to clear it up.

So anyway, I got banned from Live earlier this week. I have decided instead of buying a new hd+eeprom and having a chance to get banned again, I'll just buy a new/used Xbox and use only that for live gaming. However, I just want to know, will I have to get a new gamertag to avoid getting banned again, or can I continue to play with this one if it's an unmodded xbox? I have quite a few friends and other things related to my current gamertag and I don't want to lost it.

If its an unmodded box you can play on live with no worries on the same tag.
