Help, Eeprom Issue?
« on: January 02, 2006, 09:15:00 PM »

QUOTE
Halo2 however does have internal scanning programs inside it's default.xbe file. A hex edit of the file shows the following information:

0x0041158C, "XboxHardwareInfo"
0x00411594, "XboxKrnlVersion"
0x00411770, "HalDiskSerialNumber"
0x00411774, "HalDiskModelNumber"
etc

i have had halo 2 since i first got my xbox, and its been through 3 hdds (stock, 20GB, 200GB). could halo 2 have messed up my dash or my eeprom settings? what can i do to change it back. i dont have a problem deleting halo 2 and all its saves if neccesary.

any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

You need to get a new EEPROM whenever you put in a new hard drive.

if this is the first time you ever accessed live, in any way, at all, with any hard drive, and your current EEPROM then you shouldnt be having that problem. I have the same problem right now and i think its because my EEPROM is married to my old 80 Gig that didnt support locking, even though i only got on live one time with it, by accident. if thats not your problem i dont know what to tell you. 00C2 means that your EEPROM is inconsistent with your hardware. to the best of my understanding.
