Xbox Live: With A Softmod?

The accounts were on the xbox before the softmod however it was before the live update where they started scanning hard drives. So do I need to remove the softmod then re softmod with SID 4.0, then coldboot with the game I want to play? or what.

as long as you havent changed HDs youll be fine

and you dont have to upgrade your softmod, coldbooting works with any softmod

I thought they scanned hard drives now? So wouldn't they detect my emulators and other things that are on the  hard drive?
