Can't Connect. Can't Find A Sollution.
« on: November 11, 2005, 06:44:00 PM »

ive been using XBL with a retail drive swap on my modded xbox since i was banned a few months ago. about a month a i tried to connect to XBL and i got an error. when i run the troubleshooter it lists the error as "Xbox live not found" and i get this message when i enter the help screen:

"Could not connect to xbox live. Check these possible options:
- If you connect through a router, verify that the MTU size on the router is set too 1365 or greater.
- If you connect through a PC using Windows Internet Connection Sharing, see www.xboxlive.com/connect for more information.
- Your ISP may require additional steps to use xbox live. See www.xbox.com/connect for information specific to your ISP."

my MTU is set to 1500 so i can rule that out. i connect through a router so the second problem doesn't apply. i have tried connecting at two of my friends houses, where both of there boxes will connect, and mine won't. so i know it isn't my network, or router settings. I've never had any problems connecting to xbox live with my ISP (rogers cable), though i recently switched to VOIP phone service through my ISP, i don't believe this is the problem, because my xbox doesn't work at any of my friends houses, and they are on the same ISP without VOIP. I'm really stumped with this one, any ideas?

I can't help you, but I am having the same problems that you have described.
I accidently logged on with my mod chip on and got banned. Then obtained a new EEPROM and used my new HD to create a new account. I played for about a week, then stopped playing for a while. Now about a half a month later, I can't connect and the trouble shooter always says Xbox Live not found or something like that (exactly what reskilla said).

yea that sounds exactly like my situation. could someone help us out, this is very frustrating. i know it may have been posted and adressed before. i did try searching the forums first, but didnt come up with anything related to this exact error message. if someone could just post a link or anything that might help that would be sweet.

Wow, I am having this problem as well.

I have been running on an 80GB Western Digital drive on Xbox Live for the past few months just fine, no ban-ment or anything.

Just now I got a 120GB HDD, replaced the EEPROM with a new one in ConfigMagicFinal, and I get this error when I try to get on Xbox Live.

Help would be great!

Hey there, Im not a XBOX speciallist! however I also have a modded console. Last friday, right after MS did a couple of changes for the new XBOX LIVE version I got the message....so I've been searching on the net...I have mdone so many things.....SWITCH VIDEO ZONE, FORMAT MY HDD, BLA BLA BLA BLA....

Actually I have 2 HD (from to modded consoles, with the original settings) I tried both....same message.....my conclusion is simple...MS (for a while!!!) is ahead of us...is there anyone out there with a modded console playing XBL since last week?

I really don't know what's wrong, guys, but mine's working fine now.

I just got a new EEPROM from a kind person here on X-S, and XBL works just fine for me now.

I didn't try getting a new EEPROM, i thought it would work, but i was hoping to find a sollution other than that. Any ideas? i could really use some help on this one. If there is no other way will replacing the EEPROM work?

I have a feeling that a new EEPROM would be your only solution.

I can't see how anything else would be able to fix the problem.

does anyone know if this error definatly means you were band? or could it be something else. i tired rebuilding the stock HD, still no luck. if i am band will i need a new stock HD and EEPROM?
