When I check the status of the NIC connected to the xbox, it sends data but don't recieve a single byte if that could help figuring this out.

I am using WindowsXP and have a cable connection ( T1 or something like that)

a little note though, you need to "authenticate" and open the line using a computer, and the xbox will then use this "open" line to enable connection to xbox-live.

Maybe this should be put in a FAQ somewhere, don't know if you guys have one here on these forums, cause a lot of universities and colleges use this form of authentication.
