Why Do My Headsets Keep Breaking?
« on: August 12, 2005, 12:07:00 AM »

I've been trough 3 xbox Live headsets... they suck pretty much.
It's just about luck, some of them will work properly forever. But if you share my luck, you'll get yet another one, and it'll do the same in a few months.

It is the microphone itself.... I've dissasembled several of this pieces.... and if you replace the pricophone with a different one, the problems are fixed.

The best solution is to buy a third party headset.... it might not be as comfortable as the xbox one, but it'll last you a lot longer.

Good luck mate.

By the way, I don't believe cellphones, or japanese consoles can damadge the headset. And also, I've heard you can send the headset to M$ and they can send you a new one after checking that it works like crap. But I'm not sure about this... check on the xbox support page. And e-mail them.... who knows... maybe you can get a new one after all if the piece is defective.

Good luck again.

Yes, you can send it back. If the head set is 12 months or less and breaks you can send it to M$ to get a working one, same goes for controllers and such.

That is how it is in the UK, don't know about the US though.
