sorry to say it s00pcan but he cheated some how. If he was caught with his mod on he would have been banned entirely from live not just matchmaking. Maybe he's not the noob you make him out to be. From what i understand using mods is so simple now that even little kids could do it, maybe he loaded it to see what it was like went on and got banned. Likes its been said you dont just get banned for no reason. He had to do something, along the lines of cheating. He can still play other live games, and customs.

Only thing I can think of is association, playing with some modders in MM or something. Maybe you didn't realise it at the time, or didn't want your stats to go down, so you didn't quit. But really, this doesn't have a place here. Just ignore the assholes though.

you know you could be nicer. just because ppl flame you doesnt mean you have to be mean back. We are telling you what we know is true, if you read between the flames. Your friend was singled out for cheating for what ever reason, its a sad story if he actually didnt mean to be doing it. Since it is just a mm ban his hdd is fine all he needs is another account, ebay is the best place to get it i got a year for $40 bucks to my door. You wont need to do anything bc hes not really banned, just from mm. Just get a new account, and dont be so fast to spew vulgarity even if others do.

Been playing Halo2 for a while

The auto update must really check whats on the hard drive, because when I did the auto update, I was later banned.

I don't use any cheats
I don't use any modified files

And I have never cheated

Halo 2 is on an original DVD

Anyone have solid info about this new Auto Update and what it checks for on the Hard Drive, because it can't be just modified files for cheating because I don't have any Halo 2 modified files.

Once again, I don't need a stupid bitch telling me I had my modchip on, just info on this new update.

I honestly don't know what the cases are with anyone in this thread.

I dunno what MS looks for when they ban, and I don't know what the Halo 2 update does.


Risking a banning of any sort is just the price we pay for even attempting to play on Live with any for of modded Xbox.


I have been lucky to have not had any Live problems I suppose, but if I were to get banned, it is just par for the course. Don't want the risk? Then ya just need to go buy an Xbox for Live, and keep that sucker clean.
