Dudes...a new banning phase is being implemented.  According to Bungie's website, anything that sholdnt be on there will get you banned.  This could suck major dick.  How many others have been banned?

EDIT:

Quote Bungie..."But for some of this stuff, you won't have to wait. Cheats, hackers, modders – and yes, this includes the ones who demonstrated a way to "unban" their banned accounts – are going to be largely history within a week or two. If I were them, (and one or two of 'em are reading this now) I would delete anything on my Xbox that shouldn't be there, and I would do that today. Feel free to ignore that, but you've been warned, and besides, we don't really owe you that courtesy. If you can't play Halo next week, it was your own fault. We're not going to unban you.

"

I hope this means hacked maps.

Hmmmm. when you put your hard drive in for the first time, you did comply with the marriage theory right?

This means that if you purchase a new HD you must also purchase a new eeprom. If you've been banned before, you'd need a new gamertag too.

Not doing this will get you banned soon after you first connect. Yes, MS does ban you for having a big HD. And as mentioned before, the only way not to banned is to comply with the marriage theory.

It is still unconfirmed whether MS are actually scanning the contents of the HD.

For more detailed info see the pinned topic on this board.

QUOTE
The new gamertag it's only necesary if the HD you're installing isn't a stock HD.
He mentioned he has a 200 gb one, so if he used his old gamertag, that was the problem.

Good thinking there.

Glad to be of help. I'm trying to get more involved, should see me around a bit wink.gif.

errrrrrrrrrrrr..........wrong. i have apps, dashes emus. roms and all kinds of shit on my hdd on C and i play live every day.

True. At the moment, there is no confirmation that MS is scanning HD's. So, I suppose it's still fine to put whatever you want on C - as long as you dont replace the original dashboard (maybe thats what he was suggesting voyde had done?!). However, this could change at any time with the recent 'scares'...

I don't know but something seems fishy. I had a non stock bigger HD installed before I first logged onto live. I've never accessed live with the mod chip on and never had a problem with being banned. BUT

The other day, as usual I turned on my box with the modchip off and Halo 2 in like usual, then next thing I know....BAM.....I'm banned. This was aboug 4 days ago. At first I thought it might have something to do with XBMC since I had just started playing around with it around the same time but after some questions I've found that impossible.

I don't have any clue how I got banned or anything. Since then I've recently installed my stock HD and a new eeprom and I'm back on live with no prob.

I'm noticing a lot more frequent posts of things like this happening, who knows.
