Their saying to delete anything on the xbox that shouldn't be there, that pretty much says their going to scan the drive doesn't it? And I imagine they're referring to the Marige Theory as the way to "unban."

Alright, So if this is the case what do we do with all the stuff on our C:, do we move everything to the F folder or what?

I dunno about the unban thing, but by removing stuff that shouldnt be there I believe they mean the mods/hacks, whatever you want to call 'em.

Anyway I have a large HDD, all I can say is I am not downloading an autoupdate. This is the kind we can avoid right? Where it shows you a little box that says there is an update, press A to go get it?

EDIT: I find it hard to believe that they would scan HDDs. I mean all this time they have been claiming to know who the cheaters are, to be watching etc.
So why lose the business of all those people who don't cheat but have a big HDD?

Unless bungie is bullshitting, and I WOULD NOT rule that out considering they tend to use scare tactics over the real kind.

I tihnk there referring to the hacked maps also.

However, funny how they mention that people who have unbanned themseleves will get banned again. We should see what happens.

As a recall their is some differences in the x y z codes of the eeprom when compared to stock even if the eeprom has been reflashed.

I don't think their bullshitting, that is why I am getting out of the game, reverting to stock everything and hanging up my chip.

It has got too hard to avoid been banned even if you don't mod on live.

I just hope that when I revert to stock (and reflash my eeprom) that bungie won't think I am a modder on live that has 'unbanned' myself.

When they said "demonstrated a way to "unban" their banned accounts" they are refering to a guy over at danhrules that posted a video on how he cheated the system and found a way to get back into matchmaking on his banned account. Dont ask me how he did it, i have no idea. And i'm not saying that they are NOT going to scan hdd's, but i really hope they dont.

I think the AU is just some sort of code that will only check if your HALO maps are moddified, and that's it.

I'll be going on Live with my stock HD on the date of the release, I never had moddified maps, but I do have an incredible amount of homebrew, dashboards, etc on it.

We'll see if they are scanning content... I particularly, do not think that's the case.

Think about this: If you have a modchip, and if you play online without cheating or anything, why would they bann you? Just because you have files of your own in the drive? that's not reason enough. They need to prove people is cheating even befor suspending an account. Banning, is a far more serious issue.

So yes, I have a modchip.... and I'm squizing as much juice as I can from this box, but, I never cheated... so... why the hell will they bann an xbox Live costumer and lose money in the long run?

Its kinda sad that cheaters just to prove themself have to go on Live and hack up some people just to say "HAHAAHAH You suck bitch, your my bitch now". Its sad how it has become this way. I personally stoped playing Halo2 on live when it because the domain of stupid punks like that, and those stupid Standy-By cheaters. I hope they do ban those fools for their stupid pranks. Personally I use my 160G drive on live with all my homebrew saves that are created. I've never got banned since I "un-banned" myself because of modified-hardware. You know via the New HD, New Eeprom, new Gamertag method.

Lord Magnus I hope your right, But I think that the reason they would go on to ban everyone for ANY content (not just maps) is because Bungie is ran by MS. And since Bungie is the #1 online playing game what better of a way for MS to go about forcing people to stop modding then to use HALO 2.

If anything, Bungie is definitly taking the first "True" stance against modders, this might only be the beginning.

MS doesn't have to "Prove" that we're cheating, we already broke the rules by modifying the xbox, and this might be their way to try and stop it.

Recently I just got back on live using my old stock drive, new eeprom, and same GT. I figure if they do start banning I'm only out $10 for the eeprom.

On the bungie site in what's weekly update it says the AU will be issued in 2 to 3 weeks.
