Problems With Xbl Games Offline On Softmod Xbox

Oh, I should add, the two games that won't work are originals, not backups or copies.  

I've read something about newer games updating the dashboard, but don't really understand if this would affect any game I tried to play after an update, or if it would only affect the LIVE-capable games.
