Hey guys, I have always been able to log on to my modem direct connect using the ppoe options in the ms dashboard...

The other day I cleaned my xbox fan (it was runnung at 61 C)...

I go ahead and boot up my xbox, and it can't log into XbL because it says wrong PPoE settings.

I looked into the password and everything(it is SBC Yahoo DSL), and the password was missing a 1. So it somehow (without my doing) changed from e.g. mumbojumbo11 to mumbojumbo1 .

I tried changing it, but it just stays the same even after I click done.

I haven't touched the settings in 3 years, so I don't know what is wrong...

Power cycle your xbox by unplugging the power cable from the back of your box for 10 minutes, plug back, set date and time, set up network settings, try and connect.
Also, as you unplugg your xbox power cord, do the same with your cable modem and re-connect this one before your xbox, wait untill all the lights stop testing, and then connect your box's power cord.
