You have to call your ISP and ask them for your Primary and secondary DNS numbers. Type that in, and also in your network configuration. That should fix your problem.

Sorry mate, didn't understand much.

I would really apreciate it if you can describe your setup, starting from where does your internet cable connect to, where does it goes from there, how it derivates, etc.

For example, this is my setup:

I've got cable internet, that is hooked to a wired Linksys 4 port router/gateway, from the router and using 2 of the ports, it goes to my main and secondary PC's using regular CAT-5 cable, and from my 3rd port, also using regular cat-5 cable (not crossover), I connected my XBOX.

Each of this devices is set up manually with static IP's and comcast's DNS numbers, so the ports for my PC will stay unblocked, and my XBOX internal IP don't change so I can FTP back and forth.

My router/gateway IP is 192.168.1.1
Main PC: 192.168.1.100
Sec. PC: 192.168.1.101
XBOX   : 192.168.1.102

Ok, it looks fine. Since your modem is USB based, the use of a crossover cable is the right call. Although, some usb modems might require just a straight cat-5 cable.

Are you absolutley, 100 % possitive, that you're entering the right DNS numbers in your network config?

Sorry for being so reiterative, it's just that it seems to me that your DNS's are either incorrect, or not found at all.

Just ring them up mate. The problem by trying to find out by yourself is that if you have some sort of network established, like you do, the DNS's you'll get are INTERNAL.

It would take not more than 5 minutes. Ask them what your primary and secondary DNS numbers are and tell them you're setting a static IP for your computer and that you need that information.

Once you get the DNS numbers, go in your network places, and right click on your connections, go to property and then in the propertys of TCP/IP check where it says "Use the following DNS numbers" (Or something like that) and key in those numbers they gave you. Do the same for each network card, and finally turn your computer OFF.
After that, unplug the power cord from the back of your Modem for a few (3-5) minutes and plug it back in, turn your computer back on, and last, your xbox.

Let me know how it went.
