What you did was upgrade your HDD without getting a new eeprom after you had already been on live with that box. Because your broke the "marriage" between your HDD serial # and your eeprom, you were banned.

If you want to go on live again with a big HDD, you need all of the following:

1) A new, virgin, unbanned eeprom: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=143336

2) A new big HDD

3) A new Gamertag for xbox live.

...If you just want to get back on live again, put your old stock HDD back in and just get a new eeprom and you'll be good to go (You can keep your gamertag).

If you've already been kicked off live, you CANNOT use an upgrdaed hdd with the same gamertag.  Stock drive, yes.  Upgraded drive, no.

Get a new HDD, new eeprom, and new GT or keep the GT, get a new eeprom, and put in a stock HDD.

Instead of buying a new HDD, just use your Stock HDD for Live and your big (banned) HDD for mods. You still have to buy a new EEPROM.
That is what I done anyway
