Hello all!

As you may know, I was an active gamer on Xbox Live and I played Halo 2... A LOT! I have recently been banned due to my friends stupidity by letting his brother-in-law sign into Xbox Live with the mod-chip on. This was ALL done on HIS Xbox. He got banned, so he got a new EEPROM and reflashed his. He got back on Live, and got banned again. Now I am banned. I have NEVER been on Xbox Live with my Xenium enabled, but now from some reason I'm banned too. All I need to do is get a new EEPROM and a new HDD right?

ok if your friend got banned his gamertag was flagged, If he logged in on your xbox then they scanned your hdd. If it was anything bigger than the stock hdd then they ban you. to get back on live you can do one of the following:
New Virgin eeprom +new big hdd+ new gamertag= live
or
New Virgin eeprom+ stock hdd + old gamertag= live

no it can. As long as you dont change the hdd after you've gone on live. Like i took the stock hdd outta my box and put the bigger one in. all before i went on live. If i had gone on with the stock hdd and then wanted to change it i would have to get a new eeprom. As long as its the same hdd its all good.

there are three different types of HDs

virgin: never been on Live

non-virgin/unbanned: been on Live, but not banned (this can be used with any virgin eeprom)

banned: this is an HD that was banned, if used on live with any eeprom it will result in a ban (that is what happened to you WhatTheHello)

it means that if MC gets an unbanned HD (even if it isnt virgin) he can use it with a virgin eeprom to get ban on Live with his same gamertag

simple answer: marriage theory is true, but HDs can have affairs, eeproms cant

So if I want to keep my current GamerTag, my ONLY option would be to use a stock HDD and get a new EEPROM. I have a bunch of stock hard drives sitting here that have NEVER gone on Live.

I'd just like to add this...

I had a 120GB hard drive when I got banned in the Xbox. I was wondering if I could get a new virgin 120GB or a different size (stock is just too small

), and still keep the new gamertag, and also reflash the EEPROM. Would that be possible? Or do I have to get a new gamertag if I want a large HDD?
