No it's not down to cheating; i actually stopped playing the game because it was nearly impossible to play without encountering some dickhead with a standby button.

well im just guessing its stupid folk that have been gettin banned........so i think that im gona take the plunge soon......i just bought chaos theory...................yahhhhhhh........any one played that on liine with moded xbox? i herd that newer games some times get you banned.

a week ago was my first time playing Halo2 and i'm still not banned. It made me go back to M$ dash and updated some stuff then reloaded the game.

me and my other friends with modded xbox and big hdd have had the update for over 24 hours now and none of us has been banned yet.

I dunno, but I have been hearing about people being banned even with the chip turned off...ever since the new Halo 2 patch.

I really have no idea how the patch is working to do that kind of thing...

Well... I've been getting on every day for a period of 2 hrs since the update came out, and I'm still not banned.

I've got a 1.4 box with stock HD and a chameleon chip. And all sorts of saves and hombrew that aren't supposed to be there.

good lord it's happening all over again. and the same game keeps rearing it's ugly head - Halo 2.

personally, i haven't touched halo 2 since i finished it. have had a few multiplayer matches but in all i've probably spent around 3-4 hours online in total since i bought it.

as for dodgy gamesaves, i've got a few, too, and that damn neogenesis likes to whack it's stuff on the E drive as well. it's not too big an issue anyway - i'd just move all the saves to the f drive and copy them as and when i need them (long-winded, yes, but still - until it's confirmed that i'm safe i'll be cautious)

shame, that - i just got outrun 2 for 9.99 from play.com and was hoping to have a go on live (mind you, i hate it on live when it gets laggy, it's awful).

maybe i'll just give it a few days eh. tbh i wouldn't be surprised if they did start scanning the hard drives, as it wouldn't be difficult to do, really (i bet even a simple search for evox.ini/avalaunch.xml on the roots of C, E and F would suffice initially)

btw, if you do get banned, is your sub refunded like everyone else's? or do they just swipe your money and be done with it?

The ban we're talking about is for the particular xbox, right? Not your gamertag? I ask, because I would like to take my modded box on live to get the new maps when they come out, and if the only risk is getting that box banned then I'll go for it (still got my stock box to play online), but if I can get my whole account banned, then screw it. Not worth it. I'll just wait for maptacular to come out for my modded box.
