everything boots up righ you can get to the m$ dash, see what your xyz codes are, go to network settings and tell it to connect, then when its done go to the connection status screen, and push y. you can check out the thread that fuzzy posted its got 48 pages of people not being able to connect and what theyve done. i couldnt connect but i found my answer in that thread

have you tried the enigmah video switcher since youve updated? i read in another thread that a guy switched to pal then got on live then changed it back and it worked but im not sure how really

No, I haven't tried it since I've updated it.  I just updated today, and haven't had a chance.

well when you get the chance try it i dont think it will work but that is the easiest fix and its worth a try.

damn sorry bud, like it was said before is it in anyway possible that you have the wrong version of an eeprom. not really sure how to check other than buy just knowing from the seller.everything should work new hdd, new eeprom, your gonna need a new gamertag but first you need to get on live. im stumped, and your also sure that your hdd was formatted  and copied correctly when you changed it?  and try logging in on pal its risky but it might work. some how a guy in another thread got it to work ill see if i can find it again.

I'm having the same problem.

The new EEPROM and virgin HD I bought worked fine, but it was in German when I booted things up, so I'm pretty sure it's a PAL>NTSC problem. How do I fix this? New EEPROM?

i think if you use the enigmah pal-ntsc video switcher and change it to ntsc see hwat that does. it rewrites your eeproms i believe, correcly of coarse.

hmmm that does look like a fake serial number, i mena mine has a crap load of different numbers. are you sure that the eeprom was virgin, someone could have tried messing with it before the sold it to ya. hhmmm.  what version do you have.  
and just to make sure just try using the enigmah switcher if it was incorrectly switched be this could be your problem, ive also read that configure magic, in a few cases has incorrectly unlocked a hdd and that messes with the eeprom  and can give you the c2 error.

damn thats to bad man contact the guy who sold it to you. if yo need a new one check in the buy and sell forum for zodiiak hes a trusted seller.
