Xbox Live Not Found....
« on: March 07, 2005, 04:50:00 PM »

After replacing my eeprom with a new, unbanned one from Zodiiak, I recieve an "Xbox Live Not Found" error in the network troubleshooter. All the network stuff is fine, its just the last check that gives me the error.

History:

I have a version 1.0 or 1.1 xbox, and I softmodded it with one of the UXE/UDE exploits. Then a friend popped in a backup and tried to go onto live..... Banned! I got a new eeprom from Zodiiak, and used configmagic to install it and everything went smooth. I still had this softmod on so I replaced the whole C/E drives with the C/E drives from a normal v1.5 xbox. Then I arrive at the "Xbox Live Not Found" error in the troubleshooter.

I have read over half these forums today and tried multiple things with no success. I think its something obvious I am missing here that one of you fellows might know. Fellows?

Whenever it is done doing all the connecting stuff and says "Xbox Live Not Found", hit the Y button.

In configmagic I forgot to save my region changing options... I changed them, but I didn't save them.... DOH! I am pretty sure my problem will be solved. Thnx to ppl on this thread. At the time I did that, I had a feeling that could be trouble...

Son of a ***, still doesn't work.

"If this fails, the best way to fix this problem is to backup everything on your HD and start the HD locking/prepping procedure all over again, using your old EvoX backups (YOU DO HAVE THESE, RIGHT?), and ATAPWD/HDDUNLOCK/LiveInfo. Don't forget to copy your Live account to a memory card. Once you've completed this procedure, copy your Live account back, and try to connect to Live. You should connect successfully."

This involves removing the HD from the xbox and hooking it up to your pc? Anybody know a good tutorial for this?

The other thing I notice is that each eeprom has a different MAC address, should I change the MAC in the new eeprom to what my old one was?

You may have already done this, but before you go to all the trouble with the hard drive, open up the eeprom you received in Liveinfo on your pc and check the version....

Well, I finally got it working today when I got yet another new eeprom. I had a hunch that the "new" eeprom I was trying might be the issue and it might've already been married to another hd or something. So I got another new one, and it worked fine. Lets see how long this will work for.
