I never had problems with the linksys, I'm a fan. But check for the firmware, I had to downgrade it right after upgraded it because it'll keep disconnecting me.

Try to do the upgrades with your xbox connected directly to your modem and see what happens. If it does it right, then you might need to change your firmware version.

What router model and version do you have? And what is your firmware version?
